Selini House

The rooftop is the real star, it’s so lovely you won’t want to leave. The location is great, the price is excellent, and the owner was helpful. But we found a lot of dirt and cobwebs in our ground-floor apartment. Internet barely worked anywhere in the room, and one of the A/C units was damaged, leaking enough water to leave a pool under the wardrobe whenever it was on. There’s no soundproofing, so you can hear everything from the other flats. It has a lot of potential, but needs plenty of work and renovation.

We spent the day relaxing on the terrace and taking short breaks for a swim in the sea, instead of heading to the beach. There are steps into the water nearby, with tiny beaches about 200m away, and the roof terrace is a peaceful place to dry off and sit in the sun. The market’s Thursday starting point is 100m from apartment 5. Paradisos beach is a 20-minute walk or a 5-minute drive, and it was very nice too, though accommodation there costs twice as much. Selini is right by the town and sea. It takes about a minute to reach the busy centre, and three minutes to get to the water. The place is clean and put together with lots of care, from the warm welcome and sweets in the fridge to the well-equipped kitchen, candles, flowers on every window, decorative touches, and paintings. I think an artist from the next house made them, since I saw a similar mural motif. I’d like to come back to Selini with more friends and family. Thanks.

I’ve stayed here twice now and definitely recommend it. It’s a lovely place in a little coastal town in Greece, and great value for money. The husband-and-wife owners are really lovely and helpful.

The spacious balcony is a nice place to unwind and take in the Greek atmosphere. The house is near the centre, and the hosts are really kind. There’s everything you need in the kitchen if you feel like cooking. Highly recommended!
