Villa Doxa

The garden is wonderful, and fenced so kids can play safely. The owners are nice and keep everything tidy and clean. There's parking for your car, and the kitchenette has what you need during your stay. They service the room and change the sheets and towels every 3 days, or on request. The map makes it look far from the city center, but it's only a 10-minute walk.

Our little girl was happiest in the garden, with all the toys set out for children. We stayed six nights, and the owners were lovely throughout. The room on the second floor had three balconies: by the entrance, off the living room, and at the back. It was cozy, very clean, and quiet, and the air conditioning worked well. The modern bathroom came with towels, a hair dryer, soap, and shower gel. We agreed with the owners to have the room cleaned and the towels and linens changed every other day. There’s a coffee machine and ground coffee, a working fridge and freezer, and the basic things you need to cook. The parking is spacious and enclosed. The beach is just a few minutes away on foot, while the quieter location is about 8-10 minutes’ walk from the town center. A supermarket, bakery, and restaurants are 5-7 minutes away walking. We had a really pleasant stay at Villa Doxa and would happily come back.

They’ve put a lot of thought into the details, and the rooms are stylishly decorated. It’s a beautiful villa with a lovely garden. Our room could have used a shower curtain and better kitchen gear, since there wasn’t a frying pan.

The villa and rooms were clean and nice, but our group of five families with young children couldn’t enjoy the stay as we’d hoped. We had specifically booked to celebrate a birthday, yet the hosts commented every evening when we ate outside and made noise. It was confusing to see barbecue grills and big tables in the yard if those gatherings weren’t welcome. They also made a fuss over two broken glasses, worth 1 euro each, even though we’d paid over 2500 euros for the stay. It might suit people over 70 who turn in at 21:00, but I wouldn’t recommend it.
