The balcony had a wonderful sea view, and the apartment was spacious and well equipped. It's about 600m from the beach. Just note that it's on the 2nd floor and there's no lift.

Although we'd told them we'd arrive at 6 PM, we got there at 1:30 PM, still within the 1 PM–10 PM check-in window. We couldn't get into the house until 3:15 PM. The host's wife welcomed us warmly, explained things, and offered welcome food, including a delicious jam. The host himself was absent throughout the stay, with no support, presence, or attention. The listing is misleading about the beach being three minutes away. That's the port, not the beach. Driving in Sitia isn't a good idea: parking is stressful, and there's a real chance of car damage, as happened to many cars, not just ours. The promised space to unload our luggage wasn't there either. The price is completely out of proportion to what's provided. I strongly advise against staying here. Sitia is worth a day trip, but staying in this high, uncomfortable, poorly managed area was a terrible choice.
