The quiet mornings, with birdsong and the lovely shared garden full of jasmine scent, were a highlight. It’s also well placed, near shops and the village while still feeling secluded. Everything was spotless, and the hosts replied quickly and were friendly and helpful, with lots of useful tips. The accommodation is thoughtfully set up, with beach gear to borrow, a washing machine and tablets, and a small shower and toilet that were exceptionally clean and comfortable. I’ve stayed in plenty of places around Crete and Greece, and this was one of the best. Butterfly gorge is a must, and the walk through Pefki gorge to Pefki and the other mountain villages is well worth it too. We were lucky to get the last room. I’ll be back when I’m on the island, 10/10 😊

The cottage felt like a cozy home as soon as we arrived, with lovely decor. It’s in a beautiful, peaceful natural setting and makes a great base for hiking. We really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely recommend it.

The cottage’s spot near Pefki gorge was amazing for walks and taking in nature, and the beach is just down the road. We stayed at the end of November, and my wife, Susi, and I felt at home the whole time. The owners are lovely, and Lynn made check-in easy. Everything was fresh and clean, and the beds were lovely. We rented a car from a group recommended on the website, which made pick-up and drop-off simple. There was even a washing machine, with powder and everything we needed, which was great after all our walking. Thanks for such a great experience. We’ll be back. All our best.

We found the marked walk from the car park clear and quite short, and even though the cottage is a little outside town, we felt very safe. It was peaceful to sit and listen to the crickets and the sea. The place has a rustic feel but is cozy and comfortable, with everything we needed and a super-clean interior. We really enjoyed staying here and would definitely return. Highly recommend!

The garden’s wooden deck was a lovely spot to relax and play board games all afternoon. Cottage Charoupia is a charming, well-equipped retreat among olive and orange trees, and it made for a wonderful, peaceful four-day stay. The beach, shops, and nearby restaurants are only a short drive away. A great place to unwind and enjoy Crete’s nature.
