Ornella Beach Resort & Villas

The welcoming, polite staff were always ready to help and really made us feel cared for. Breakfast and the food were good too. Ornella Beach Resort is by the sea in a quiet, beautiful part of Sivota, just a few minutes from the center. The rooms and villas were comfortable and clean, with wonderful views. A lovely choice for a relaxing seaside holiday, highly recommended!

The pools were kept in great condition, and seeing them cleaned and chlorinated regularly gave us peace of mind. The staff were attentive throughout, from the service to the outdoor areas. The service lady was polite and helpful, and the kitchen team kindly prepared our baby’s food to suit our preferences, which we really appreciated. Special thanks to everyone, especially Aleks, who was kind and welcoming from our first day to the last. Hotel Ornela was one of the best in the area. Highly recommended!

The place has potential, and the bar and restaurant workers were hardworking and polite, trying to keep up with guests. But the management or owner seems asleep at the wheel, or worse, given how much is being neglected. People who haven’t seen better may think it’s the best, which is a pity. No value for money. Say thank you, look in the mirror, and start fixing things. The first impression was of an outdated, poorly maintained place with low value. The room smelled of mold, and the triple room was overpriced. Calling it a junior suite is misleading: it’s a triple room with no amenities inside, and adding a sofa to an already cramped room doesn’t make it a suite. It was also advertised as a five-minute walk to the center, but it took us 20 minutes up a steep hill, even if you’re in good shape. At the beach, the sunbeds were dirty, the umbrellas old, and there often weren’t enough of them for the small beach. The pool was never cleaned; there were spilled coffee stains and bird droppings. There was no shower, and the setup looked like an abandoned camp. The parking area was dirt, with no guards. Guest behavior in shared spaces wasn’t controlled. The place was understaffed. Older employees had to carry food and drinks uphill to customers on the beach in high heat. At breakfast, one person was setting all the tables and running to the bar, while guests waited for hot water for tea. The food quality is another issue, including the juice, which was a very sugary drink. The bar served beer in a can in a plastic glass. Cleaning felt merely formal. The cleaners spoke only Albanian, wore dirty, torn clothes instead of proper uniforms, and towels and linens were dragged along the floor in garbage bags. There was no proper lighting for walking at night, and no handles on the stairs. Hoses hung all over the stairway, creating a fall risk; they should install a sprinkler system. Soundproofing was poor: we could hear every movement upstairs and water going down the drain through the board floor and ceiling. This might be a five out of ten, but because of the high price, poor upkeep and falsely advertised “suite,” it deserves no more than one.

It was so calm and peaceful here, with lovely surroundings and the beach just steps away. The staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. A big thank you to Angelikha (elegant, loving and professional), Rudina, who was very sweet, Gerti, Majlinda and Marinela. Everyone was friendly, professional and caring. If you want a quiet getaway with warm hospitality and great service, I highly recommend Ornella Beach Resort. Can’t wait to return!
