The place itself was good, but the service was awful. Sivota is lovely, but I'd suggest staying somewhere else. We checked in around 17-18 after notifying the owner two days ahead. Booking says there's 24/7 helpdesk service. He seemed annoyed, left us waiting outside for 20 minutes, and said check-in was at 14/15. Why shouldn't I be able to check in at 18 after giving notice? It was ridiculous and unprofessional. On day two I asked for one extra towel, and the owner got annoyed again. In his rambling reply he claimed I'd asked for 16 towels, as if I were meant to collect them. What would I even do with 16 towels? He also said my girlfriend yelled at him in Italian when he brought the extra towel. She isn't Italian and doesn't speak Italian. That felt like another made-up excuse for his strange attitude.

If mold in several forms, cheap plastic bottles, and questionable crumbs in the room sound appealing, this might be the place for you. The host is aggressive and never available, and communicating with him in English seems almost impossible. He also lied in another review, saying I screamed at him in a language I don't even speak 😂 I'm wondering how he could have understood me when he can't speak that language either.

Even with bad weather, the owner helped us find more information about sivota and made sure our vacation was much, much better. The design is beautiful, the place is very comfortable, and the owner was kind and helpful.
