Krinelos

We’ve stayed here two years running, first with friends and then with family and my four-year-old daughter. It feels like home, and the owners take such good care of you. Everything is a two-minute walk away, but being just that little bit off it keeps things really quiet. I love this place.

The staff were always smiling, polite, and ready to help. We had a spacious, very clean room with a soft, cozy bed, and the AC cooled it perfectly. Right in the center of Skala Eressos, close to the restaurants and beach.

Everything in Skala Eresou is within walking distance from this central spot, yet the place stays peaceful and quiet. I found the rooms clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated, and the staff were attentive and so friendly that I felt at home. I had a wonderful stay at Pension Krinelos and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

We’d booked a room for two a month ahead, but on arrival they told us they’d forgotten to call and say our room had mold. They said it would be cleaned by the next day, and put us in an emergency room on the roof in the meantime. We left our luggage and went to the beach while they said it would be ready in an hour or two. After waiting two hours, they called to say we’d have to stay in that room for the full two days because they couldn’t clean the one we’d booked in time. They offered to lower the price to make up for their mistake, but even at the reduced price it was too much for the room’s condition. The room they gave us was filthy and dusty. The fridge was moldy enough to smell from far away. There was an old CRT TV, a bed from the 70s or 80s, a cheap plastic table, and a worn closet with beach umbrellas inside. It had one window, poor ventilation, and sat behind another wall. The walls and roof were dirty, and the roof made cracking sounds in the wind. The bathroom was outside our room and even worse. There was barely space for one person to shower, with the toilet and sink in the way. The faucet didn’t drain the water properly, so it ran out the door onto the roof, where sand and dust got on our feet or flip-flops. The toilet didn’t flush well, leaving waste behind and a bad smell, and the seat was worn down from years of water hitting it. Bugs could get in through a finger-width gap under the door. Some of the door protection had been worn away, possibly by bathroom water or rain, leaving openings. My girlfriend got gastroenteritis during our stay, possibly because of the poor, dirty conditions. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, and I won’t stay there again on my next visit to Skala Eresos.
