Villa Marilena

We stayed at Villa Marilena in June 2020, right after the three-month COVID lockdown. With us as the only guests, this already peaceful part of Skala Eresou felt even quieter. Our room was bright, spacious and clean, with a maritime-style decor, and the price was reasonable. Being right on the beach was perfect. We had a great stay despite all the changing corona rules and restrictions.

We spent eight days here in July during a heat wave, and waking up to the sea right outside was wonderful. The sandy beach and clear, cool water were lovely, with swimming by day and night dives under the stars. Shops are close by, yet the place stays quiet. After our evening swims, we could be back on our veranda in seconds to eat. The room was spotless, colorful and thoughtfully decorated, with everything arranged well and all the kitchen equipment we needed. We got fresh towels and cleaning every day. Mrs. Marilena is firm about the property, but fair, and she made us feel completely at home. I've stayed at many five-star hotels in Greece and elsewhere, and this had the comforts that mattered to me. I can't imagine anyone leaving without being thrilled. Take care and keep it up.

How lucky we were to have picked this place! Our ground-floor triple room was right beside the waves on the beautiful beach at Eressos. My husband and I found it both pretty and practical, and the little private courtyard out front was very handy. Mrs. Marilena is a fantastic host. I only wish we could stay longer than four days!

The setting has a pleasant climate, a lovely sea view and seems well suited to families. My experience with the manager, though, was difficult because communication and service were poor. I live locally and tried to support the business by arranging the stay directly instead of booking online, but it went badly even though I planned well ahead. Booking through the official site may help avoid confusion over prices and check-in and check-out times. Check the receipts carefully, too. The room also wasn't clean enough.
