The pool area feels like a little paradise tucked behind the main town, and the staff were wonderful. The hotel sits in lovely gardens with pomegranate trees and flowers. From the bay behind it, you get stunning sunsets, while the other side is just a few minutes’ walk from Skala’s boutiques and restaurants. Lower rooms are set among the gardens, while the higher ones have big balconies and lovely sea views. We reached the port in under ten minutes. It was spotless, and although there were a few small imperfections, the new management are bringing the hotel back to life. We loved it and I’d happily return.

The people running the hotel are what make it special. After we’d left, the reception staff still went out of their way to help, forwarding something we’d left in our room by ferry to the next island where we were staying. Thanks again to those lovely ladies.

We only stayed one day, but I’m already planning to return next year. We needed a room at the last minute and the staff really tried to fit us in. Our balcony had an amazing view, and the location right by Scala was so convenient, with everything from supermarkets and souvenir shops to coffee places nearby. Thank you so much.

Five days before I was due to arrive, while I was at the airport on my way to Athens, Anamar Hotel emailed to say they were overbooked and asked me to cancel. I had booked and paid months earlier, and already had non-refundable flights and ferry tickets, so this was extremely inconvenient. They refunded the room, but cancelling at the last minute left me without accommodation in mid-August. I had to pay much more for somewhere else at short notice and lost transportation costs too. It badly disrupted my vacation. Management did nothing to help. This was one of the worst hotel experiences of my life, and I definitely wouldn’t advise staying here.
