The sea view from the breakfast restaurant was glorious, and breakfast offered a continental buffet or a UK cooked option. We also enjoyed the evening meals, especially the fresh fish and traditional Greek dishes. There were tasty, healthy choices at good prices. The bar between the restaurant and pool was a great place to spend time between activities, with a good selection of background music. Our first floor room looked out to the sea on the right and mountains on the left, though the left side was a garden centre view. Check-in was quick and easy, and all the staff were friendly and easy to communicate with even though we only speak English. There’s a short walk to Skala town center and the beach is across the road. We visited in October, when public transport was negligible, so a hire car was needed to explore further afield. We’d definitely return to Hotel Paspalis when we get the chance.

The food is good and reasonably priced, and the location is ideal with a pretty good atmosphere. The beach service could use some work, though. Once you’ve paid for your beds, you might be lucky enough to get drinks if you ask straight away, but then you’re unlikely to see the staff again. Other beach services have two people regularly walking around to ask if anyone wants anything and clear away glasses. This place doesn’t. I can only imagine how much service, sales, and profit are being lost, and how many customers are left dissatisfied.

We’d eaten here several times and it never disappointed, so we finally stayed and found it exceeded our expectations. Yiannis, Ellis, Andreas, and Tsula are among the staff who do the hotel great credit. Our room was a good size, contemporary in style, and came with a lovely sea view. The beach is a two-minute walk away, with sunbeds for hire. The pool was also very nice, with comfortable sunbeds. Skala center is a 10-15 minute walk.

It’s our third day here and the place has had the wow factor from the moment we arrived. The room is fantastic, with amazing views, and the pool and bar area are perfect. The staff have been amazing too. We’ll be coming back and would definitely recommend a visit.
