Villa Brio

In May 2018, four of us stayed in the middle villa and had a lovely time. A friendly staff team cleaned it every day, and the kitchen had everything we needed if we wanted to cook. There’s also a BBQ, and the nearby shops sell things like charcoal. The pool is a good size for swimming. During the day, a waterfall from the neighbouring villa’s pool makes a pleasant background sound, then switches off at night so it won’t keep you awake. From the garden, it’s only a very short walk down to a pontoon by the private beach, where you can climb or jump into the sea. The rocky shoreline is good for snorkeling, and confident swimmers can reach a couple of small coves that you can only get to by swimming. Skala is an easy walk away, with plenty of restaurants and bars. Captain's Bar is fun for cocktails, and Nautilus restaurant is worth a visit if you like seafood. We had a great stay and would happily return.

We spent the week at villa brio for our wedding, and the experience couldn’t have been better. We’d first booked for 2020, but had to move the dates twice, first to 2021 and then to 2022. Annita was flexible and accommodating throughout. Such a beautiful venue!

I stayed at Villa Brio last week, and the location is very good. It’s about a half hour walk along the coast to Skala, where The Pines is an excellent restaurant. But the photos on the website are misleading. The slippery marble stairs make this unsuitable for elderly or disabled guests, or children. The bathrooms are extremely basic, which may explain why they aren’t pictured. There wasn’t even a pedal bin for toilet paper, which can’t go down the loo. The downstairs bedrooms are basic too, and the air con in mine didn’t work. They open onto the lawn and pool, but there’s no outside door handle, so you can’t get back in if you shut the door. The layout is awkward, since the only way outside is through a bedroom. The upstairs bedroom does have lovely views and a balcony. I nearly moved to a very nice looking 5* hotel across the road!

The villa is very nice, though the layout is a little odd. In ours, you had to go through two downstairs bedrooms, or use the road outside, to reach the pool and the sea. The amazing sea access is the best part. It isn’t a beach, though there are a few nearby, and it’s great for swimming and snorkeling, with a few little caves to explore.
