Maria went out of her way to meet all our needs, including a pick-up and shower facilities when we left. She really cares about her guests, keeps the apartments spotless, and even gave us excellent local products. The suites are conveniently placed in Skala, within a short walk of the main square, shops, and restaurants. We didn’t have to worry about a thing, and Maria made sure we had an authentic, memorable time in Patmos. We highly recommend the Suites and Apartments.

The hostess was very helpful, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The spaces are on the narrow side, but the cleanliness was excellent. There’s a nice view of the sea and the country. Municipal parking is very close, though it fills up quickly, and you reach the accommodation by stairs. Since we had an evening departure, they let us stay until late at night for free.

The view is lovely, and the place is right in the center of Skala. It’s very clean, nicely decorated, fully equipped, and has comfortable space. Maria greeted us with a smile and delicious homemade cookies. She’s a very sweet host. We recommend it without hesitation!

I booked the double studio with a sea view for August 2023, at 180-190€/night without breakfast or hotel amenities. Despite the hostess being extremely kind and hospitable, I was disappointed enough to leave early and find somewhere else. The rooms were clean, which is why I’m giving one star, but the work felt amateurish and didn’t justify the price. I also don’t think anyone should pay 300 € for the larger four-bed rooms. These places are decent in some ways, but have serious weaknesses for what they cost. The studio sits in a central part of Skala port, with access to all parts of the port, but I find Skala the least attractive place to stay in Patmos. The studios are tucked into a narrow street that meets the main road. You have to watch for traffic when stepping out, and many mornings I woke to cars and felt I was in a noisy place. There is a sea view, with Chora a little farther to the right, but it isn’t by the sea. Booking’s photos don’t show the whole picture: the place is squeezed behind two other properties, so below the balcony you see a neighbor’s laundry and water heaters, while the island’s most central road is in front of the sea view. That doesn’t seem worth 180€/night. The room also wasn’t comfortable or ergonomic, with several things missing that would make it easier to use. Some of this is visible in the photos, but not all: the bathroom is very small and would clearly be a problem for a large person, the bed is tucked into a wall recess, and the balcony is literally 1.5 square meters. The wooden windows seem to be from the 1980-1990s and have neither roll-up shutters nor screens. The air conditioner is more than 20 years old. In summer conditions, including the climate we have now, sleeping becomes difficult because of both heat and noise. Getting in is another problem. There apparently isn’t private parking, so you have to leave your vehicle in the municipal lot 150-200m away on foot, then climb 20-25 steps on a fairly steep slope. None of this is shown in the photos, and the owner should clearly tell guests, since it’s a serious issue for many people. Our room’s entrance was also right beside the next room’s balcony, so those guests walked in front of our door to use it. Did they also pay 180 €/night? I’ve travelled in the Aegean for 20 years, and the prices I’ve seen in the last two years have gone beyond any limit. I want to call out cases like this and react as a consumer. I met the owner and have only good things to say about her, so I wouldn’t call her profiteering. Still, professionals should take this as a lesson, because these prices will come back to haunt them.

It’s an easy walk to the port and local shops from this clean, modern place. There’s a nice view, and the owner is very kind and helpful.
