My booking was canceled without a proper explanation, two days after Booking told me the property had confirmed my request and there would be no extra charge. The message listed Aiolos House, 10 Aug to 17 Aug, with check-in from 15:00 to 16:00. By the time the cancellation happened, the other options on booking.com cost two or three times as much. I tried calling the owner, but he doesn’t speak English, and I couldn’t get an explanation for why my holiday had been ruined. He apparently works in hospitality, yet the lack of professionalism was appalling. They called it “overbooking,” but I don’t believe that excuse. Avoid him at all costs.

The owner is friendly, and the hotel is a good deal. The sea port is a 5-6 minute walk, with plenty of shops nearby, and it takes 10-15 minutes to walk to the beach. There’s also a big supermarket just around the corner. The one downside was the internet, which kept jumping between .50Mbps and 4 mbps, or sometimes nothing at all.

The room was clean, and the amenities and location were great. Remember to ring the doorbell when you arrive.

The bed was super comfortable, and the little back yard was cute. Our room had tasteful decor, though it was tiny, and the shower was barely big enough to fit in.
