Petra Nera Skiathos is located in Agia Paraskevi area of Skiathos island, built on a small hill above the omonymous famous sandy beach of Agia Paraskevi, just 4 km from the well known Koukounaries beach and 7 km from the cosmopolitan Skiathos town.
Agia Paraskevi beach is just 150 meters from our hotel and in the area there are many taverns, bars, super market, car/motorbike rental companies, as well as the traditional church of Agia Paraskevi.
Just 50 m from our front office there is bus station #14 with regular buses (every 15 minutes) to Skiathos town and the rest of the southern beaches.
The hotel consists of 3 buildings in a total of 43 units, whereof 38 rooms & 5 suites, all of them fully renovated in 2025. Some of them are provided with private jacuzzi or private pool. We spent a week at Petra Nera and found it through Booking. The hotel is clearly well run, and the staff are a big part of that. Our place was in the top building, with a beautiful view and no neighboring buildings, so it was very quiet. The tradeoff was walking up a steep hill each day, though we got used to it quickly. The pool area felt cozy, and in the second half of September it was never even half full, so there was plenty of room to swim or lounge. You could also get nice drinks and cocktails there. Breakfast was generous and varied, with genuinely good coffee brought to the table by staff, not just from a machine. Artea and Nena, our morning coffee ladies, kept us well caffeinated. The reception staff were incredibly helpful with tips and anything we needed. Aaron, a.k.a. the captain, was funny, professional, and helpful, taking our luggage around the complex and giving us rides.

The rooms were spacious, clean, and newly renovated, which made our stay comfortable. We only ended up at Petra Nera after a bad experience at Princess Hotel and needing to switch at the last minute. Luckily, there had just been a cancellation. Eleni and Esi at reception were so friendly and attentive, and looked after us throughout. Captain Aaron and Costa were always happy to drive us up the hill. At breakfast, Artea brightened our mornings with coffee and helpful tips about things to do nearby. We were impressed by how friendly everyone was, and we'd recommend Petra Nera highly.

We had such a good week here. The breakfast, room, pool, and location were all great, and the staff were the nicest we've met in all Greece. They even sang me a Happy birthday song. It's a very beautiful hotel, and the team is the best. I can definitely recommend it, and hope to see you all again soon.

The breakfast was tasty, with plenty to choose from, and the room was cleaned every day with fresh towels. Ours was spacious and had a sea view. The hotel has been newly renovated, and we couldn't have picked a better place for our stay in Skiathos. The staff were always friendly and ready to help with anything. Some rooms are up a hill, but there was always a helpful, smiling driver to take guests, or you could use the elevator to the pool with a view and walk up a short hill.

We only stayed one night, but the staff were very helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and the location couldn't be better, 15-20min to the last bust stop on both ends. Our agency was meant to book us at Casa Blue Hotel, also part of the Philian hotels, but something went wrong and Casa Blue was full. It wasn't Petra Nera's fault, but they transported us there and let us stay the night. The whole thing happened after 22:00 and went on until around 1AM.
