Rigas Hotel Skopelos

The team at Rigas Hotel Skopelos treated us like family, and we left with memories we’ll always keep. We arrived as three friends through social tourism and had such a wonderful stay. We’d happily recommend it to anyone visiting Skopelos. Breakfast was delicious, with lots of choices each morning. We also loved the bar, especially Despoina’s amazing strawberry daiquiris, and the pool was just right for cooling off and relaxing after a day on the island. Everyone welcomed us kindly as soon as we arrived. A special thank you to Konstantina at reception, who was always ready to help with whatever we needed and made the stay unforgettable.

My room smelled strongly of some kind of cleaning chemicals, while my friends' room smelled of mold. We ended up going to reception almost every day, which took time away from our holiday, and I don’t even want to get into the reception team, or most of them. The hotel describes itself as “a hotel with tradition in guest service,” but I’m sure this wasn’t the tradition they meant. The price was high for what we got, nowhere near what the pictures suggested. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The hotel was great value for money, and I really can’t understand the bad reviews. We stayed four nights, 2-6/7, and it was impeccably clean. Breakfast had lots of choices, and the staff were kind, cheerful, and ready to help. You can walk to the town center and avoid driving, which is useful since parking there is limited. We parked near the hotel, either on the road or on a nearby plot of land. That’s typical on a Greek island and normal for a hotel so close to the center.

We got back on 6 October 2025, and we wouldn’t return to this hotel. The bathroom drain stank and needed unblocking, the balcony fence was rotting, and parts of the artificial grass by the pool were coming loose. The pool area also looked nothing like the photos. Breakfast food was cold because the heaters were set very low, and there wasn’t even a toaster. You don’t see a rep until the day before you go home.
