Syia Hotel

Syia is spotless, quiet, and central, and the orthopedic beds were the best I’ve slept on. We had an apartment facing the garden and gorge, and Marcos, the host and owner of this family hotel, should be proud of it. We’d first stayed at a hotel on the street by the busy shopping corner, but the noise was too much. This place was a gem, only about a minute’s walk away. Highly recommended.

Our balcony was a great spot to watch a thunderstorm roll over the mountains. The hotel was very clean, the rooms spacious, and despite being on the road, it was quiet. Beds were comfortable and the shower was good. Breakfast costs extra, but it was very good, with a great selection, good coffee, and eggs cooked perfectly, with runny yolks.

Markos made us feel welcome right away. He’s friendly, helpful, and clearly cares about his guests. We had an amazing few nights at Syia Hotel and will definitely return on our next trip to Crete. The room was spotless, bright, and comfortable, with what we needed for a relaxing holiday. The location is handy too, just a short walk from the beach, tavernas, and everything charming about Sougia. I can’t recommend Syia Hotel enough.

Markos couldn’t do enough for us and pointed us toward bars, restaurants, and hikes that all lived up to his advice. The room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. It’s a wonderful hotel in a lovely Cretan village on the island’s south coast. I’d definitely return if I’m back in the area.
