Iakovakis Suites & Spa

We were a family of four, with two adults and two children aged 9.5, staying in Kyma 202 from September 21st to 25th. The hillside setting gives the hotel a lovely view, and it’s close to the beach and attractions in western Pelion. This is an intimate, family-run place that was very clean and well cared for. Our suite had plenty of space, a very comfortable bed, and a sofa bed for the kids. The huge bathroom, with both a Jacuzzi and hammam, was a real treat. Breakfast came served at the table, fresh and delicious, and the quality was excellent. A great choice for families or couples.

What brought our rating down to four stars was the lack of service. The reception is in the hotel cafe, and between 8:30 and 11:00 the receptionist is also serving, making coffee, and sometimes cooking breakfast, so there’s no one actively at reception. During our five nights, a door handle and toilet seat that we reported several times were never fixed. The shower heads in the spa were clogged too, and we didn’t bother reporting that because we expected nothing would be done. The spa is private, fits only two people, and needs to be booked. Sometimes you can get a slot the same day, but other times you need to reserve a day ahead. It has an indoor pool and a dry sauna; the wet sauna wasn’t working. The dry sauna only reaches 55°C, which is very low, even below the roughly 60°C of a weak sauna. You also have to work out which buttons turn it up, losing 15 minutes of your booked time, then wait another 30 minutes for it to heat. I don’t understand why the staff don’t warm it up before your reservation. The rooms are large, pretty, and comfortable, the pool is nice, and breakfast is made to order. It’s a great hotel, please come here.

We liked it so much that we extended our stay twice. The price felt great, worth every euro, and the people there have such big hearts. Vasili, Heleni and Polina were especially dedicated and made us feel as if we were dreaming. The rooms were nicely decorated, breakfast was delicious, and the staff were always there when we needed something. You can tell they care about people and want guests to have a perfect holiday, and ours really was. If you’re visiting the eastern side of Pelion, we recommend staying here. We’ve been to Iakovakis Suites & Spa six times, and the service is the best we’ve had in Greece over nearly 40 years of holidays there. The staff are always friendly and quick to help, and whenever something comes up, they sort it out right away. They’re what makes the place special, always going the extra mile. It’s up in the hills, so the setting is cool and peaceful. The hotel isn’t right on the beach, but there are beaches a short drive away. You can also visit beaches on the other side of Mount Pelion and return the same day. If you’d rather stay in, there are two pools, one indoors to get out of the sun and one outside. Our room, 103, had a huge bathroom with a Turkish bath and hot tub, just right for relaxing. There’s a good restaurant nearby, and the property also serves snacks like club sandwiches, crepes, and fruit salad. A well-stocked market is within walking distance. The only small drawback is the access road, which is a bit steep and could use some work. We love it here and highly recommend it.
