Palios Stathmos

We spent a quiet, relaxing time with a glass of wine on the hotel patio and our room’s veranda. It’s a beautiful, peaceful place, and the rooms are spacious and modernised. There’s also a little train ride nearby, just 100m away.

We especially enjoyed walking the paths around the village, just as our welcoming and efficient hostess Sophia suggested. The hotel looks over the historic station of the Little Train of Milies, and the stay was delightful. Our accommodation was very clean, beautifully restored and modernised. The hand-hewn woodwork showed real craftsmanship, and we learned that our host had made it.

The owners, Mrs. Sofia, her husband, and their son, were genuinely warm and hospitable, always keen to make our stay special. Breakfast was a daily treat, with fresh organic food, much of it from their own garden, including eggs from their chickens. We spent four lovely nights at Palios Stathmos, a family-run boutique hotel among the trees just outside Milies. The sound of spring water and the cool feel of the place made it a welcome escape from the summer heat. The hotel sits next to the historic Milies train station, where you can take the famous narrow-gauge train through the green Pelion countryside. There are also plenty of hiking trails starting near the village. Our renovated rooms were comfortable and tastefully decorated, with quality mattresses and bedding, spacious spotless bathrooms, and smart features that added a modern touch without losing the charm. Palios Stathmos felt relaxing and welcoming from the start, a real hidden gem for families and nature lovers.

It’s a quiet area, and the rooms are great. The owners were welcoming and made our stay comfortable. The village center is about a 15-minute walk, with a mini market, cafés, and restaurants. The location is also handy for reaching both sides of the peninsula.
