Alianthos Suites

The staff really made the stay. Mimi and Taco were so friendly, kind, and helpful that we felt at home. The rooms were clean and cosy, with a lovely sea view at sunset, and breakfast had tasty options for everyone. We also ordered gyros and Cretan salad from the bar. Both tasted great, and the portion was enormous. The place itself was amazing, peaceful, and had beautiful views. I’d suggest renting a car. The nearest town is a 30-minute walk uphill, and a taxi from Chania and then to Chania Airport cost us €30 each, so a car would be cheaper.

The grounds were lovely, full of flowers, with views of the sea and mountains. The staff were kind and helpful, and breakfast was nice, though I would have liked more choices. There’s private parking on site. We had a Studio, but it was smaller than the pictures suggested. It had just one small window and felt cold and uncomfortable. Wi-Fi didn’t reach our room because it was too far from reception.

The staff were the best part of our stay, really sweet and funny, and always ready to help. The pool was fine, and breakfast had everything we needed. Our room was okay and had the basics, though it felt a bit old and worn for the price. We stayed for the first three days of our holiday. Since we like getting away from tourists and noise, this wasn’t the right fit for us. There were lots of families with kids, planes from Chania airport overhead, and music playing constantly at the bar. The cicadas in the trees were sometimes unbearable too.

The staff were friendly, and the rooms were clean and pleasant, with basic cooking facilities. There’s nice food by the pool, and a child-friendly beach just a minute’s walk away. We liked the pool area, though the big pool is too deep for young children to stand in.
