The rooms are more like large apartments, and the hotel offers great service for a reasonable price. Anthemis is close to Stavros beach, one of the best around Chania, and it’s about a 20-minute drive to central Chania.

We had a fabulous holiday. The owners are generous and respectful, and the staff are helpful without being intrusive. It’s peaceful, with a lovely view over the Mediterranean. A car would help you make the most of the location, though buses can get you to local beaches and tavernas, and some tavernas deliver. It’s hard to understand bad reviews of Anthemis, especially since it’s often mistaken for another nearby hotel with a slightly different spelling.
