The service from Dimitri was excellent and made our week even better. We were just steps from the water in one of four spacious, modern, clean seafront rooms, with a lovely patio and a little privacy from the trees. The shared area had an outdoor shower, a table with an electrical outlet under the trees that served as an “office,” plus paddle boards and snorkeling masks. The beach has clear water and pebbles rather than sand, and it was calm and child-friendly. For a quieter swim, we could go a few hundred meters to a small beach reachable only by water. There are excellent seafood restaurants by the miniature seafront port, about a five-minute walk away. I think this was the best spot to stay on Alonissos.

The Villa was spacious for the two of us, and its architecture and garden were stunning. From there, the view across the beach to Peristera island was spectacular, a lovely setting for a relaxing holiday. My wife and I stayed six nights in early October at the Villa of the Ilya Suites by the Sea, choosing it right by Glifa beach so we could swim and snorkel every day. The air turned out colder than usual for the season, but being so close to the house meant we could quickly go back and warm up. We ordered the generous breakfast box. With several restaurants and a supermarket nearby in the port of Steni Vala, we hardly used the kitchen.

We were so glad to find this little paradise. Our lovely suite by the sea had a big terrace and was planned down to the last detail. We could use sunbeds, SUP boards, and snorkeling gear. The host was friendly and helpful. Thanks for making our holiday perfect!

The owner Dimitri began our stay with a rather strange complaint about how we had parked in front of his building. He seemed to think our car did not fit the look of his nice place. We had booked three nights in the Botanic suites, then wanted to add one more night by moving to the Beach suites. Dimitri showed us the room, and we wanted to move there straight away, but he refused, citing his GTC and a requirement to stay an additional three nights. He showed no concern for customer service. For suites at this price, being referred to GTC in the middle of nowhere in Greece over such a simple request felt alienating, and the service was quite bad. We would have gladly paid extra cleaning costs if that was the issue. Dimitri seems very fussy, which doesn't work well at this high price range, and doesn't seem to understand first-class customer service.

The manager was friendly, polite, and ready to help with anything. The suites are right by the sea, very clean, and beautifully designed, with all the COVID-19 precautions in place. The beach in front is great for relaxing in the afternoon, and the location also makes it easy to get to other spectacular beaches and the Old Village of Alonissos. Such a great experience, we'd go back again and again.
