Odyssia

The hosts are wonderfully friendly and always happy to share advice, local insight, or recommendations. Captain Filmon also provides collection and drop-off at the port(s). The apartments are spacious and clean, with an en-suite bathroom, kitchenette, cupboards, fridge, AC, and a shared balcony that gets sun from about 8:30am until around 6pm. Beds are made daily and fresh towels come every 2 days. They’re in a lovely two-story set of self-catering apartments overlooking Symi harbour, above the Odyssia restaurant, which is well worth a visit. It’s far enough from the town centre to be quiet in the evenings, even above a restaurant, but still only a 7-10 minute walk into town. Kirtos beach is close by too. The only small issue was the fridge sometimes made clicking noises, which was a bit alarming in the middle of the night. Otherwise, I can’t fault the stay. I absolutely loved it.

The food is great, with really fresh fish. The fisherman lives next door, and the menu goes well beyond basic Greek fare. The people are lovely, very hospitable and obliging, and even came to collect us from the ferry. It’s right by the quay, though a little far out if you have reduced mobility.

We loved staying at Odyssia and even wanted to add another night, but they were fully booked. The owners kindly helped us find another hotel nearby. Our terrace was perfect for morning coffee and an evening aperitif, with a lovely view over the city of Symi. The restaurant downstairs was delicious, and the owners were friendly and helpful. Thanks so much for a wonderful experience. We’ll be back!

The rooms are great, with the best view in symi. There’s also a great terrace where you can sit and take in the night view of symi.
