The property was peaceful, around a 10 minute walk from the beach, where a couple of tavernas serve authentic Greek food. The village centre has a few bars and shops for livelier evenings. A car is useful for exploring farther afield, while the local bus to Chania is reliable. We were a family of three staying at Lycasti Maisonettes and had an excellent holiday. Staff were warm and professional, and our room was cleaned every day, with towels and sheets changed often. The small kitchen had all the basics. We enjoyed morning coffee on the balcony overlooking the sea. Parking inside the gated property was easy, and free street parking was available too. I didn’t use the pool, but it looked nice. There’s also a recycling point by the entrance, a thoughtful touch. Special thanks to the daytime receptionist, the one with the blue motorbike. His useful advice and customer-focused attitude really stood out.

The family running this hotel were incredibly friendly. It’s close to the beach and local amenities, but in a quieter part of the island, so the nights are peaceful and relaxing. Places like Agia Marina, Platanias, and Chania are only a 20-25 minute bus ride away.

The kitchen had everything I needed to prepare meals, and the staff and owners were friendly. It was clean and relaxing. My visit in July was the most incredible experience of my life. Thank you for everything.

We went for a swim despite the cold water, since it was 17-20°C when we visited in April. The pool was cold, but we didn’t let that stop us. It was amazingly quiet that week, perfect for relaxing. The rooms were spacious and always clean, and we all loved the cats hanging around. Thanasis, the kind and helpful owner of this family business, was a joy to talk to. Within a 2-4 minute walk on the main road, there are cafés, a bakery, a grocery shop, and restaurants offering takeaway, so you can eat in your room or by the pool. There are sandy beaches nearby too. Chania is 25-30 minutes away, and Heraklion is two hours away. We hired a car for €175 for five days. The season in Crete starts in mid-April. Enjoy your stay.

Tavronitis is an authentic Greek village, with a peaceful garden and pool area at the hotel. The town is quiet, yet close to the main road, where you can find the basic services you need. A bus stop for Hania, Platanias, and other coastal towns is nearby if you’re after tourist attractions or shopping. With a rental car, Paleochora, Elafonissi, and the mountains are easy to reach. The rooms are spacious and really clean, and breakfast is good. Friendly staff made the hotel feel like a home rather than just a place to stay.
