Filoxenia Hotel Apartments

This was my first visit, though my mum has been here at least 4-5 times, and Filoxenia lived up to what she’d told me. Nikos and Evangelia are wonderful hosts, kind, caring and great at what they do. Everyone on staff was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable: Zdenka, Vasillis, Mike, Georgia, the hardworking kitchen ladies, Helen and all the cleaning ladies who keep the rooms spotless and stocked. The food was delicious, with generous portions and options for meat lovers, vegetarians and people eating gluten-free. BBQ night on our second night was a hit, especially Nikos in his “BBQ king” shirt. Fridays bring Greek nights with live music and dancing, and even when a storm poured down, the staff got everyone inside and remade meals that had been soaked. We also got to see the museum, full of great photos, interesting information and artefacts about family life in the past. And the puppies, Reya and Nero (I hope I’ve spelled that right), are adorable. They wander around the site and sometimes bark at the cats, but mostly like to lie in the sun. I can’t say a bad thing about Filoxenia. They’ve been wonderful, and I’m sure I’ll be back soon to join my Mum. Thank you 😊

There isn’t much to do within walking distance, but these are very nice hotel apartments. The rooms are airy and clean, and the setting is surprisingly quiet despite being under the flight path. There are two pools, a restaurant, and a museum on the grounds. You can also use the mini golf, large draughts and chess games for a small fee.

We got here on Sunday 10th May 2026, and my first impression is that it’s a beautiful place. It’s very quiet, which I love, and there are some nice restaurants. So far there hasn’t been much to do, but we’re heading into Rhodes Town tomorrow for most of the day. I’ve also been craving gyros back home, so that’s a favorite. I’ll post again or update this at the end of our stay.

My wife and I have just enjoyed two wonderful weeks here. The rooms are basic, which is my only criticism, but they’re clean and comfortable. If you’re after a really chilled-out, relaxing stay, this is the place. The owners, staff and pets are lovely. We’ll be back.
