Imperial Palace Classical Hotel Thessaloniki

We booked two rooms for a business trip at the end of February 2026 on the 5th of that month, then had to cancel an hour later because our plans changed. We booked through the hotel's official website, but were told we had to contact a tourist agent in Atlanta, US, to cancel and get a refund. It was extremely hard to reach them. Once we did, they put off processing the cancellation for several days so they could charge a fee. Of the 136 EUR for the rooms, we eventually got back just 21 EUR. The hotel reception said they couldn't do anything. Calling the US agent cost more than the room itself. A very sad way to treat customers. Stay away.

The photos don't match what you find here, and I found the place filthy, especially the tiles. The linens were very worn and seemed unwashed, and the furniture was worn out too. The door cards didn't work, there were no sockets in the room, and the windows had bars. For a 4-star hotel, this is the ugliest one I've ever seen. I do not recommend it.

The staff were lovely, and the free breakfast was delicious with plenty to choose from. The bar had a good selection and was open in the evenings. The hotel was clean, the bed was super comfy, and the location made it easy to walk around Thessaloniki and see a lot. The rooms feel dated and need attention, and the soundproofing is poor. I could hear everything from other rooms and the corridor, which got annoying. Still, it's a good budget-friendly base for exploring.

The whole place has a joyful feel and positive energy, with friendly staff and a great location. An ideal hotel for visiting Thessaloniki and the surrounding area. Highly recommended.
