Kono Studios & Suites

BEYOND DISAPPOINTING The apartment looked nothing like the online photos. It was completely deceptive. Save yourself the disappointment and don't book this place.

Okay.

The room itself was decent, though the cleaning could have been more thorough. We noticed dust, hair, and cobwebs, and some wallpaper and laminate were already coming loose. The shower head looked worn too. We only learned afterward that the boiler has to be switched on at the fuse box to get hot water, something that would be useful to explain beforehand or post in the bathroom. Getting to Kono Suites was a struggle. There were no signs at the entrance, and the old, dirty, painted staircase and elevators nearly had us looking for somewhere else. Things felt a little better once we reached the fourth floor and saw the room.

The rooms were clean and everything inside seemed new, and the location worked well for walking to the oil fields or around the center. We stayed on 17 and 18/11 with two other couples, using three rooms. The serious problem was the smell from the pipes and sewage. In room n4, we had to keep the bathroom door shut to sleep. We reported it and someone blocked the washing machine drain. That solved it in two rooms, but not in room 4.
