Le Palace Hotel

There’s no lounge area, and if you want to smoke, you have to go out onto the street. The bigger problem was that money disappeared from our room on our last morning. We left our bags there while we went to breakfast, with the do not disturb sign on the door, and noticed the money was gone when we returned from dinner. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. They haven’t even replied to my emails. Flight center customers, be careful: I don’t trust this hotel.

Breakfast was great, and the location was nice. The rooms are a good size, but the beds weren’t comfortable, so I slept poorly. The bathroom setup also meant shower water ended up everywhere.

The parking was the frustrating part. It costs €18 per day, which seemed reasonable, but we weren’t clearly told where to go. When we stopped outside to unload our bags, police came over right away and warned us we’d be fined. Giving guests the parking address in advance and passing along the license plate would have prevented that. Our first-floor room faced the front and was spacious, new, and very clean. The breakfast space was small, though there was plenty to eat, including freshly baked pastries and eggs served continuously. The hotel is very central, with almost everything only a few minutes away.

The location was phenomenal, within walking distance of the main attractions, and the tour prices are reasonable if you’re traveling alone without a car. My room seemed to be one of the renovated ones, and it was large, clean, had working air conditioning, and a nice bathroom. For the price, it was a really good room. They cleaned it and replaced the towels every day. Breakfast was good, and the kitchen staff and receptionists were all very kind and helpful. My only complaint is that I arrived early on the first day and wasn’t allowed to have breakfast. Since there’s plenty of food and many people skip breakfast on checkout day, letting me eat then would have felt like a fair trade. Still, I had a positive stay.
