Limani Comfort Rooms

When the navigation said we’d arrived, we were looking at a street lined with abandoned, derelict buildings. There were 4-5 men constantly going in and out of the building, while the street itself seemed almost empty. It felt like an unsafe industrial area, and my wife didn’t feel safe there at all. We then realized this wasn’t a hotel with a 24/7 reception, despite our assumption that “Limani” meant it was near the seaside. We’d driven into Thessaloniki around noon after a long, exhausting workday and booked two nights at the last minute. Farmers’ protests had closed many of the main roads that day, so the navigation took us along smaller streets. We first thought the route was just because of the closures. We messaged the property and contacted them on WhatsApp right away to explain that we couldn’t stay because of the location, and asked to cancel. We’d only made the booking about 30 minutes earlier, but roughly two hours later they said free cancellation wasn’t possible. We hadn’t been holding the room for days or weeks. Even after we explained how uncomfortable we were, they wouldn’t cancel or refund us. Losing this money won’t make me poor, and keeping it won’t make them rich. Still, the response felt purely money-driven, with little regard for guest satisfaction. Travelers, especially those on a tight budget, should know about this rigid policy and think twice before supporting businesses that work this way.

We only stayed one night, and the sheets didn’t seem clean at all. There were other people’s hairs in the bed. We asked for fresh ones, but the replacement sheets still had hair, just less of it. The hotel is outside the city center and seems to be the only lively building in the area. The street feels unsettling when you enter it, with the surrounding buildings looking abandoned. For what we paid, it wasn’t worth it.

The employee was friendly, and the room had lots of useful things: a microwave, toaster, hair dryer, coffee, and two cold bottles of water. It was clean and nicely furnished, and the Wi-Fi was very fast.

The rooms are cute and very clean, and the windows block the street noise well, so it was quiet inside. It’s about a 15-minute walk to the main seafront street, or an 8 euro taxi ride. There’s free parking all around, first come, first served, but you can find a spot. I recommend it!
