Internet access failed every day, from afternoon through the morning, and I found rodent droppings in the outdoor area. The place also smelled strongly of mold, including the linens and towels. There was visible mold on the walls and inside the A/C, which seemed not to have been serviced, and signs that someone had tried to paint over the mold instead of cleaning it. I booked Aelia Tinos through Booking.com for nearly €200 a night, expecting somewhere clean and comfortable. I have photos and video of the conditions. The owner dismissed each concern and said there was “no problem,” despite what was visible. I also found mold cleaning products hidden in cupboards, which didn’t fit with that denial. We tried to find another place, but in high season availability was very limited and prices were unreasonably high. This was one of my most disappointing and unhealthy travel experiences. I can’t recommend the property and strongly urge travelers to look elsewhere.

The property was a long walk from the town center, so getting to cafes, shops, and other amenities was inconvenient. Worse, a strong mold smell throughout the room was noticeable in the bedding, towels, and linens. Ventilating didn’t make a difference, and the owner offered no solution. Between the hygiene problems and the location, we were very disappointed. If a clean, fresh-smelling room and easy city access matter to you, this isn’t the place.

Our basement room smelled strongly of mold, and the towels had a mildew odor too. There were also mouse droppings in the room’s private yard. The listing never said the room was in the basement, and that would have affected my decision to book. When we brought up the problems, the host was extremely rude and unhelpful. He offered an early check-out, but said the remaining nights wouldn’t be refunded because of “policy.” We paid EUR 200 a night for a double room, which didn’t come close to matching the condition or quality. I found the listing misleading, the conditions unhygienic, and the host unprofessional and unwilling to help. I don’t recommend this property, and it wasn’t worth the money.

The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the room was spotless. Staff were attentive and kind, and I felt genuinely welcome from the moment I arrived. It was easy to get out and explore from this location, and just as nice to return and relax.
