For the money, this was such a lovely stay. I’d read good and bad reviews and was on a budget, so I arrived expecting little for our one night. Instead, the place smelled nice as soon as we walked in, and the owner, Mr. Dimitris, greeted us with a lot of character. We’d agreed on 30 Euros for a double room for two, but he charged 28 Euros. I told him to keep the change, and he gave me a bottle of wine as a Tolo souvenir, which I gladly accepted. The room had a balcony, wooden furniture, and a bit of history about it. It was spacious, with air conditioning, a clean bed and a bathroom, everything we needed. There was some dust on the lamps, but that didn’t bother me. We got two clean towels each and soap. The bathroom and shower were very small, but I had a shower and that was that. Tea and coffee were free to help yourself to. The location is great, with free parking, about 150 meters from Tolo’s main shopping road and another 50 meters to the nicer part of the beach, for me. If you’re driving, go up from the port and turn sharply right uphill to reach Hotel Katerini from the upper road. Don’t take the narrow road from the shopping street. This isn’t a luxury hotel, but at that price it had what we needed. We really enjoyed it, and I’ll definitely come back.

I felt very much at home here, and I really enjoyed spending Easter at the hotel. Dimitri was a lovely, kind, and welcoming host. Thanks for making me feel special!

Dimitris is a genuinely kind owner. He kept offering us his wine, though we don’t drink, and we shared some sweets from Spetses that we’d brought with us. The hotel feels like an adorable time capsule from the 60s. We had a lovely stay, and he and his business are absolutely worth supporting. I’d much rather stay in a small, old hotel like this than a corporate, cookie-cutter airbnb.

We stopped in Tolo for one night while passing through. Mr. Dimitris was friendly, talkative, and willing to help, and the building and rooms had a vintage, one-of-a-kind feel. The price was great and the sea was nearby. But the rooms weren’t clean, and one pillow clearly hadn’t been changed. Cleanliness matters most to me, so that spoiled the stay. I’d suggest it to someone up for a slightly spooky adventure.

For the price, this place feels like heaven. It’s a vintage 🏨 hotel with a welcome old-school feel from the 80's, and the sea is only about two minutes away. You’ve got internet 🛜, TV 📺, hot 🚿 water, and free parking spaces 😱. Mister Dimitris is a real character, and the stay gave us something different to remember about Greece and its lovely people. We’ll keep him in our hearts and can’t wait to return.
