We came as two families with children, and everyone had a lovely time together. Aloni Cottages gave us a quiet place to stay among old ruins, with well-equipped rooms, a traditional feel, a cared-for garden, and a nice pool for relaxing. The hills above Jerusalem Beach have long seemed to us the best spot for looking out over Kefalonia’s rugged west coast and catching sunset. Konstantinos was a wonderful host, attentive and ready to help with anything. We’d happily return to Aloni on another trip to Kefalonia.

We really enjoyed the sunsets from this spot, and there are several wild beaches nearby. Fiskardo, such a photogenic village, is about a 10-minute drive away. Mr. Konstantinos and his family are lovely hosts who care about nature. It’s a great place for a relaxing holiday, and I’d definitely recommend Aloni cottage.

The cottages sit in a peaceful little village between Assos and Fiscardo, a lovely escape from the crowds. There are four of them in a loose semicircle around a pool looking out to sea. We stayed in Elia, a semi-detached cottage with a good-sized kitchen area, separate bathroom, and a large veranda and garden facing the pool. There’s no oven, but it has a two-ring hob, kettle, toaster, coffee machine, and plenty of dishes and cutlery. Since each cottage sleeps only two, the pool never felt busy, and we often had it to ourselves in the late afternoon. The owner was usually around in the mornings watering the plants and was very accommodating. He also runs the local restaurant a few hundred meters away. We went several times, and it was the best meal of our holiday. We’ll miss this little slice of paradise!

We loved our four nights at Aloni Cottages, especially the setting and the whole cottage complex. It feels secluded while still being easy to reach, which worked well for social distancing. A great choice if you’re after a quiet stay with spectacular views.

With only a few cottages, the pool stays quiet, so it was a lovely extra for our family alongside the beach. The kitchen could use a few more things, but there are places to eat nearby, especially the sister place Ranzo Ionio, which is the best choice. The family who own the cottages are so kind and helpful. It’s peaceful here except for the insects and goat bells, and the views and sunsets are perfect. We’ll be back!
