A bit beyond touristy Fiskardo, Ranzo Ionio Cottage is in a beautiful spot with a magical sunset. You can stay there or just come for traditional Greek dishes and fresh bread made by hand and baked in a wood-fired oven. The kind, smiling people make you feel like a guest and show you that special Greek hospitality.

Stella cooked the most delicious food, and the rest of the family gave us such delightful service. The view and sunset are divine, too. We got there for 19.00, chose a table, had a drink, and walked down to the sitting area to watch the sunset before dinner. I’ll cherish that evening. There isn’t a dessert option, but they ended the night with a lovely touch, freshly picked fruit from their garden. We’ll come back to stay.

The layout and design are beautiful, and the sunset view is amazing. We’ve tried all the “best” restaurants around, but for real, home-cooked Greek food, this is #1 in the area. Probably a lovely place to stay as well.

I wish I could stay here all year. The rooms are incredible and so relaxing, almost like a spa. Kefalonia has terrific food, but this place is on another level, with fantastic organic produce made by Nikos’ father John.
