Melidron

We loved the location and the people in Nea Roda, but the stay had several serious problems. There was no private parking, only public spaces, which made parking difficult and left us worried about our car. The room was very narrow, more like a bedroom than a studio, and we had to keep wet towels and beach things inside because there was no fence or basic protection from street thieves. Two pairs of swimsuits worth around 60€ were stolen from the clothesline. The owner didn't offer even partial compensation. Noise was another issue. Music from the nearby beach bar was loud on our first night, and on Friday and Saturday a pub next to the hotel played music until 2:30 and 04:00. We couldn't leave the door open for the sea breeze, and trying to sleep with the air conditioning on didn't work. We told the owners about the noise and theft, but they said nothing could be done because there was no police in Nea Roda and officers would have to come from Poligiros, an hour away. The landlady said she'd speak with the pub owner, but the following night was no better. The people and location were excellent, and the service was good. During our six nights, though, the room was cleaned and the towels and sheets were changed just once, only after we asked. At other hotels during our Greece trip, linen and towels were changed daily.
