Aqua Bay Hotel

The staff we spoke to were friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed our time there. The food was good overall, but getting drinks could be slow since you couldn’t really serve yourself. There were a couple of machines, though the hot drink one often didn’t work. Staff were also a little too quick to clear the table. Entertainment was pretty average. Our room was okay and cleaned every day. The fridge and kettle were useful, but there was no TV remote. We had to report it to reception four times before we got one. The pools were okay, and access to the Waterpark next door was good, though the Waterpark itself isn’t the greatest. We were told it was five-star, but no chance. Maybe four at a push, though closer to three. The staff were nice.

A great hotel for families, with good food and a decent selection of all-inclusive drinks. The rooms on the ground floor are a good choice, since the pool is right outside your door. It’s a bonus having access to the waterpark next door.

The staff were great, helpful and friendly, and Natassa, the restaurant manager, was amazing along with the chefs. I’m vegan, and they made me vegan pancakes for breakfast, offered other options, and explained what was vegan in the buffet. The oat, almond, and soy milks were all good. One thing to watch: the buffet food isn’t clearly labelled at all, so ask Natassa if you have allergies or similar needs. Some things are clearly vegan, but egg and fish products are marked as vegan. We had a lovely week at Aqua Bay. The hotel is in a great location, and our clean ground-floor suite had a lovely little terrace and a good bathroom. They changed our towels twice a day. There are plenty of sunbeds, and the little pools are so numerous, about 10, probably more since I didn’t fully count, that you might only share with two or three other rooms. It felt lovely and private. The beach is about a 10-15 minute walk away, and we went every day for the incredibly clear water and snorkelling. We used the waterpark next door every day too, haha! The food was really good, with different options and always served hot and fresh. Drinks weren’t great: some cocktails are full of syrups, depending on what you order, and the beer is watered down. They do have spirits you can have with mixers, and the bar staff are amazing and will pretty much make you anything you want. We aren’t big drinkers, so it wasn’t really an issue. The staff were warm and attentive throughout, and we felt welcome from the moment we arrived. Our room was spacious, modern, clean, and comfortable, with everything we needed to relax. The grounds were looked after well, and the several pools meant it was easy to find a quiet place. Meals were fresh and plentiful, with plenty of choice from salads and fruit to local and international dishes. The kids had lots they enjoyed too. Aqua Bay made for a very easy all-inclusive holiday, and we’d happily come back.
