Caravel Zante

The food and drinks were first class, and the room was spotless and cleaned every day. There was different entertainment each night. The staff were amazing, always smiling and going above and beyond to make our stay the best they could. It was my first visit, but definitely won't be my last.

We got back from ten days at the Caravel, and it was a mixed bag. The staff were lovely and the food was good. The main restaurant meals and service were excellent, and the outside bar and restaurant had a great lunch menu. For a smaller hotel, the entertainment was good too, with a nice seating area. Christina and Una at the snack bar restaurant, along with the two entertainment staff, deserve a mention. Most of the staff had a good command of English. We stayed in the old part of the hotel, and other guests told me the new section was much nicer. Our first room, 108, looked onto the restaurant roof and the back of what seemed to be a pub, where they stored junk. We asked reception to move us, and they were very helpful; after two days we got a different room. We were in 509 after that, but the rooms still need an upgrade. The shower water would suddenly turn hot, so I had to jump out of the spray. There's no razor adapter in the toilet, the bathroom is tiny, the cupboard door was hanging off, and the safe in the wardrobe is tiny too.

We're on our honeymoon and couldn't have chosen a better place. The staff have been amazing since we arrived, always going out of their way to make us feel special. Poolside table service is impeccable and makes lounging by the pool even more relaxing. The hotel has the calm, laid-back feel we wanted for our honeymoon. Our room in the new block is beautiful, spacious, modern and comfortable. Everything seems thoughtfully done, and you can feel the care put into making the place welcoming. We're having a great time and would recommend TUI Blue Caravel for luxury, relaxation and wonderful service. Truly unforgettable.

The sea view from Room 605 was far better than the “partial” label suggested, and the spacious room had a balcony rack for drying swimwear and towels. The one real drawback was the shower, which swung between cold and scalding. We made good use of the buffet, with plenty of choice, themed evenings and food replenished often enough to stay fresh. The desserts stood out, and at lunch the snack bar’s souvlaki wrap and Greek pizza were especially good. The all-inclusive drinks menu had lots of options, and having drinks brought to our sunbeds or table felt like a treat. The hotel sits right on the beach, with complimentary sunbeds for guests. The sea entry on the left side is sandier. A bus stop five minutes away has a roughly 20-minute ride to Zakynthos Town for €2 one way. We’ve just come back from a lovely week. Everyone on staff was so friendly and keen to make the holiday special, and the fireworks on Gala Night were a perfect end to our last evening.
