Daphne Studios

The studios are so handy for getting around. It’s only a couple of minutes to the first restaurant, about 3 or 4 minutes to the busy village, and two minutes to the bus stop. The beach is around a steady 10-minute walk. Zorbas, Kolovos, and Athina are a few of the restaurants well worth a visit. A perfect base, really. We’ve stayed more than once, and it gets better each time. George works hard to make the studios as good as they can be and is a great host from start to finish. Everything is very clean, service is great, and there’s a large enough menu with food cooked well. Maria was lovely, always smiling, and I hope her exams went well. Our housekeeper did a lovely job too, and the towels and linen were changed regularly. Can’t wait to go back.

George was a star when we needed help, and sorted things out quickly. He’s always there with a smile. The bar food was very good, and the area is close to supermarkets, pubs, restaurants, and other amenities. The beach is about a 10-15 minute walk, with sun beds at €15 for the day. We’d definitely return, but I’d email George to book the superior apartments, as they aren’t available through travel agents. After a drink at the bar, he showed us to our two-bedroom ground-floor apartment, which worked well for my husband’s mobility issues and had good access to the pool. The apartment was very clean, though one mattress needs replacing because we could feel the springs. The bathroom is small, with a tiny bath and overhead shower. Free soap was provided for the bath and sink, but getting out of the bath was difficult, so we took care. Towels were refreshed regularly, the sheets were clean, and Anna cleaned the room every day. She was very pleasant. We like self-catering, but had to ask George for washing liquid, a dishcloth, and a tea towel, and the tea towel never appeared 🤣. There was enough cutlery, mugs, and plates for making snacks.

We weren’t staying at Daphne apartments, but spent most days at Daphne’s Pool Bar, having breakfast and/or lunch each day we were there. It’s a lovely place for a day by the pool, or to stop for a drink and snack, and it’s good in the evening too for drinks before or after a meal. Definitely worth a visit while in Tsilivi, and a five-star spot from us. George hosts, with Maria helping out. It’s a family business with a wide choice of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, cocktails, bar snacks, breakfast, and lunch. Drinks are served all day. They’re good quality and reasonably priced. Breakfast and snacks are nicely presented, tasty, good value, and served until about 4:30 pm. The seating area is nicely laid out with music adding to the pleasant atmosphere. By the large, very clean pool there are plenty of sun beds, many recently upgraded with comfortable mattresses. The pool is constantly filtered and big enough for a good swim. Clean toilets and changing rooms are handy too.

We didn’t stay in the apartments, but used the pool bar twice this year. It’s an outstanding family-run place with great food, and it’s clean and friendly. Monica, the lovely bar girl, couldn’t have been more helpful.
