The location was spot on, and we’ve been visiting Tsilivi for years, but this was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I wouldn’t call Porto Planos Beach a four-star place, two stars at most, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend it. There are much nicer two- or three-star hotels. At first, our top-floor room looked lovely, clean and had a nice sea view. Then we noticed the back of the bathroom door was peeling, and a nail sticking up from the bathroom floor caught my foot several times. In the shower cubicle, pulling the cord made its cover fall off and exposed wires, which didn’t seem right near water. We only had hot water for three of our seven days. I had to ask reception for towels twice because the maid left none. When it rained, water came out of the extractor fan above the toilet. I was told there was nothing they could do and we’d have to deal with it. The room flooded, and they only mopped it up. The hotel didn’t even apologize. The pool area was just big enough for a goldfish to swim in.

We spent nine nights at Porto Planos beach hotel and loved every minute. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and I’m very grateful to them for making our stay memorable. The hotel is a one-minute walk from the beach, with Tsilivi’s Main Street about three minutes away. There are lots of restaurants, shops, beauty services and games there. A convenience store right beneath the hotel made it easy to pick up anything we needed. The street itself felt magical, lined with hotels, restaurants and beachside taverns. The price felt well worth it, and Planos overall was very affordable, so our money went a long way. We also had perfect weather every day. We hired cars through the hotel without any hassle. The car representative brought ours to us, and there’s a large gated, secure car park just a few metres away. It made coming and going easy. The island is beautiful and well worth exploring. This year we tried Porto Planos Beach hotel after usually staying at Planos Bar Hotel in Tsilivi, which we love. It was amazing. The buffet offered lots of delicious choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and everything was so clean. The staff were fantastic, and there was entertainment too. Greek night was especially fun. Thanks to the owners Taki's and Angela for another great holiday. My family and I love spending our holidays in Greece.

The staff were the biggest plus: friendly, helpful and always ready to lend a hand. The accommodation was modern, clean and comfortable, with shops, tavernas and cafes close by. Hotel Potro Planos in Zakynthos is just a few steps from a lovely beach with clear water, great for swimming and relaxing. Definitely recommended!

The rooms are fine, but checkout comes with an extra charge, and I couldn’t find the checkout hour specified anywhere.
