We really enjoyed the hospitality from Dimitra and her parents, and we'd love to see them again next year. The apartments are a great base for the beautiful nearby beaches, about five minutes away. We also went to Parga for a drink, had fish in Ammoudia, and kayaked on the Acheron river. At night, it was lovely to come back and relax on the beautiful hill of Valanidorrachi, where a fresh breeze blows.

We found the apartment really comfortable, with good bedding and air conditioning that worked well. Our hosts were lovely. It was a peaceful, beautiful stay in a typical Greek village, and I'd highly recommend it.

The host family were so kind and generous, and we could even buy lovely organic olive oil from their own olive groves. We were thrilled with our first visit to Valanidorrachi. We booked both apartments for ourselves and the kids, and found them modern, clean, practically new and beautifully furnished. The beds showed no wear, and the air conditioning made the hot nights bearable so we slept well. The village sits on a small hill with fantastic views. There's an idyllic little garden in front with delicious vegetables we were sometimes allowed to try after asking the owner. It has a small table and chairs and a stunning view. The beaches, including Scala and Alonaki, are a short drive away. Popular swimming spots take about 5-10 minutes to reach, with plenty of parking, and we could park right outside the house. Local restaurants serve very good food at fairly low prices, and Taverna Alonaki stood out for its quality and atmosphere. The two small shops within walking distance have practically everything you need for daily life. We'd love to come back!
