Syros Holidays

The little bay by the hotel has clear, shallow water and is sheltered from the wind, with friendly local bars and restaurants. The hotel arranged free loungers there, so we only paid for food and drinks. Breakfast was huge and included yogurt, fruit, granola, pastries, cakes, bread, cheese, meat, preserves, tea, coffee, juice, and eggs cooked to order. I wish I'd had longer to see more of the island and the spectacular buildings in the main town by the port. Katarina and Georgios were the kindest, most attentive hosts I've met in all my travels. They picked me up at the port and took me back at no charge, and shared plenty of helpful suggestions. My room was gorgeous, with a wraparound balcony overlooking the pool and sea, and a very comfortable bed and pillows. There were thoughtful touches too, including a large cold bottle of water in the fridge, local wine, and little lavender pouches on the bed. I loved my stay and can't recommend the place enough. The staff were so attentive and helpful that they really made our stay pleasant. The location is nearly perfect, only about 50 m from the beach. Everything was as described. I don't really understand the star ratings. I've stayed in much worse 4 star hotels in the UK, while this one is rated 2 stars. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would happily return.

The location made it easy to enjoy Syros, with the beach only 20 metres away and a few restaurants nearby. The hotel is still being renovated, but the work done so far is brilliant. Our double bed was soft, towels were replaced daily, and toiletries were complimentary. The pool is a little small, but fine for a cooling dip, and there are plenty of big, comfortable sunbeds. Katerina and the rest of the staff were welcoming and attentive. They picked us up and dropped us off at the port, helped arrange motorbike hire, and kept checking that we were okay. We also found complimentary wine and water in the room. Breakfast had eggs, bread, and pastries, though it felt like too much was served to everyone and a lot went to waste. We had a great time in Syros and would definitely recommend staying here.

The rooms are dated, but roomy and have a very nice view. The sea, tavernas, and cafes are just a one minute walk away, and there's a mini market right outside the hotel. Our stay was brief, and all the staff and owners were friendly, kind, and helpful.
