The place was clean and spacious, and the owner often left us home-baked treats. The hosts were lovely, kind, and helpful. I especially loved the terrace, where we could hear the goats’ bells and watch the swallows. The jacuzzi makes great use of the view, and the whole stay was memorable and peaceful. Ano Syros sits above the main town in a charming maze of stepped streets, with boutique shops, bars, and restaurants. You can walk down to busy Ermopouli port/bus station in about 25 minutes, though it’s a steep walk back; a taxi is only 5/6 euros. I really loved staying here and would definitely recommend it.

Our flat had a lovely balcony with wonderful views across the island, a great spot to sit back and relax. Ano Syros itself is picturesque and very peaceful, just right for unwinding. You can walk down to hermoupoli, though it’s a lot of steps and the uphill return is tough. A taxi costs about €5.

The hospitality exceeded what I expected. We felt welcome and cared for, especially when we ran into difficulties, and were given useful tips about things to do and places to eat and visit. Ano Syros is an old little town perched on the mountainside beneath a very old church, in one of the island’s most picturesque areas. For me, this place is the crown jewel at the top of the hill. 💍 It’s somewhere you have to visit once in your life!

Fantastic Greek hospitality, and the lady makes excellent pastry. Great views too!
