Zante Royal Resort

The location is quiet and good, but it's away from the island's center, so going out means calling a taxi. It cost about 25€ each way. There weren't any entertainment activities for adults or children either. The resort was a disappointment. The rooms felt old-fashioned, with furniture that seemed to date from when the hotel was built, and there hadn't been a renovation for decades. They were dirty and smelled mouldy all the time. Cleaning meant changing the bathroom towels, while the bed sheets were changed only once a week. There was no Wi-Fi in the rooms, and connecting in the lounge was rare. The food was very low quality. All-inclusive drinks meant beer and fruit juices that mostly tasted like water. There were no drinks or water in the room minibar, and after 11:00 PM you had to pay. I wouldn't recommend staying here if you want to avoid ruining your vacation.

Filthy, filthy, filthy. My family and I booked through VEA TRAVEL ALBANIA and found a completely different experience from what the website photos and descriptions had led us to expect. We thought we'd booked a comfortable, high-quality four-star resort. Instead, the resort was bank-owned, and the conditions were awful. I've attached pictures of what we found. The hotel needed modernization and maintenance. The air conditioner and refrigerator in our room didn't work, so it was hard to stay inside comfortably or have a cold drink. The whole place was dirty, smelled bad, and our room was in unacceptable condition. The bathtub was dangerously slippery, and my son fell. My other son got bed bug bites. During the stay, one of my sons also suffered food poisoning, with severe vomiting and diarrhea. We had to stay in the room for two days to care for him, which badly affected the vacation. The advertised beach access was supposed to take three minutes by golf cart, but there was no cart to be found, leaving us stranded and unable to enjoy the beach as promised. When I asked to change hotels or be taken back because of the terrible conditions, I was told there were no alternatives because we were on an island. We felt trapped. This experience ruined our vacation and put my family's health and well-being at serious risk. The resort wasn't at all what had been promised, and I firmly believe the advertising was misleading.

The rooms are roomy and kept clean, though the hotel itself seems past its best. Meals get repetitive, with a few choices but some ingredients not very good. Drinks are a recurring issue, or really, often missing altogether ;) It’s set somewhere calm, away from town, and there’s a hotel shop with most holiday essentials. You get two bars and two pools, one with slides that opens twice a day. Steps go down to a lovely beach, but sadly the elevator isn’t working.

I had the worst holiday experience I can remember. The place is so old, and the kids’ attractions they advertise aren’t there at all. The all-inclusive deal seems to exist only online. Once there, the only thing included was beer, and even that tasted like it had water in it, with no alcohol. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. Everything they promise on the website feels like a lie. People in town call it the Ghost hotel, so please don’t go.
