Argo Apartments

The kitchen didn’t work, the air conditioning didn’t work, and the beds and pillows were uncomfortable. There was noise from the street and the room above, so don’t expect to sleep. The place felt dark, dingy, dirty, and smelled terrible. When we raised all this, the owner basically shrugged and said it was our fault for booking. Cheap and nasty, the worst place I’ve stayed. Spend a bit more and stay somewhere else.

We had plenty of room, a balcony, a small but well-equipped kitchen, and a parking space. The beach, restaurants, and shops are just steps away, and although we arrived late, the keys were left at reception and check-in went smoothly. The Wi-Fi was poor, and one air conditioner for two rooms wasn’t enough. On the first night the bathroom drain caused trouble. We reported it straight away, but it still wasn’t fixed after three days, so we had to keep checking that water wasn’t spilling onto the floor.

The location is a real plus, with a lovely sandy beach nearby. I think it’s the only shallow sandy beach on the island. The two peninsulas beside it make the water good for kayaking, windsurfing, and paddleboarding. There are restaurants and a mini mart right outside, and Vasiliki is a 5 to 8 minute trip away. Our room was clean, with a small kitchen and a nice balcony. The receptionist focused on telling us not to bring sand in rather than welcoming us, and the person cleaning the room may move too many things around while tidying.

The staff were super friendly, and the price was very good for what we got. The room looked old-fashioned but was comfortable, with a comfy bed and great air conditioning. Vasiliki beach and the restaurants in Ponti are only about 100 metres away.
