Pansion Nefeli

It saddens me that some people show so little compassion. My partner and I planned a 14-day holiday in Greece, but after three days we had to head home because his mother was severely ill and her treatment had stopped since nothing more could be done. We wrote to the hosts straight away to explain and asked if they could refund at least part of what we had paid. We'd only arrived Saturday and left Tuesday, so there was plenty of time during peak season to find other guests. Even so, they didn't reply at all, and Booking.com had to get in touch with them for us. My partner rents apartments in Slovenia himself, so he knows what fair, professional, respectful treatment looks like. Despite sending medical documents, we couldn't get a refund or even a personal response explaining their position. That felt completely inhumane.

The location is quiet, with plenty of restaurants and the beach across the street. I was hesitant to give three stars. Yiorgo is the reason for the five-star service rating: he greeted us when we arrived and worked at the cafe. He was professional, attentive, courteous, and kind. I'd give him six stars if I could.

We were so disappointed with Nefeli hotel. We paid 70 euros a night for a place that needs to be much cleaner to deserve four stars. It may have been a four-star hotel ten years ago, but now it feels like one star. The bathroom was awful and very dirty, and there were lots of ants in our room. It needs repairs as soon as possible. We wouldn't recommend it. Maybe 40 euros would be a fair price.

We didn't have a good time at Nefeli. We paid for a studio but ended up sleeping in a small room, with hardly enough space to turn around. When we arrived, they said the sunbeds were free. On our last day, we went to use them and the hotel asked us to pay 15€ for an umbrella or take a sunbed and sit in direct sun, even though there were ten free umbrellas. We won't come back.
