Omirikon Hotel

The location was just right, quiet but only about a 15-minute walk from the main square, with a lovely view in the morning and at sunset. The hotel was spotless. What made my stay at Hotel Omirikon in Vathy, Ithaca, especially good was Irena, who managed everything so smoothly. She was friendly, polite, and full of useful local advice. Her English was perfect, and I could reach her in person or by phone. Communication was great from booking right up to my sad departure. I'd highly recommend it, and I'm sure you'll love staying here ❤️

The bay views are gorgeous, and it's only a short walk, about 10 minutes, to the centre of Vathy. There are three bars and a couple of restaurants along the way. We had a lovely four-day stay at Omirikon. The place is clean and nicely presented, with rooms cleaned daily, a small pool for cooling off, and a little kitchenette with enough bits to make a meal if needed. Irena was friendly and helpful, though she isn't always at reception. There's no breakfast or bar area, so it feels more like a small apartment complex. It's not luxury, but it had what we needed to relax.

Our balcony looked out over the port, and we loved sitting there in the evenings, watching boats come and go with a glass of wine. The rooms were spacious and clean, with a nice mix of modern comforts and Greek touches. One night, Irene arranged dinner for us at a local taverna. The seafood was incredibly fresh, especially the grilled octopus, and it came with local olive oil, herbs, and crisp regional white wine. Those thoughtful details made the stay feel personal. Hotel Omirikon sits right by the water, with lovely views of the Ionian Sea and green hills behind it. Mornings began with the sound of the waves and a pink-and-gold sunrise. Irene made the experience even better. She welcomed us like family and shared tips for local spots, homemade breakfasts, and stories about Ithaca's history. Her love for the island and her guests showed in everything. I'd come here for a warm, peaceful Greek island stay, and I can't recommend it enough. It felt like a real Ithacan experience, one I'll remember long after leaving.

We only stayed one night, but Ithaka is well worth a visit. The hotel is an easy walk from Vathy square, roughly 10 minutes to the restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. We were warmly welcomed and shown to a first-floor room facing the bay. The check-in lady was lovely, friendly, and welcoming. The balcony was a good size, with a table, chairs, and a clothes airer. Inside there was AC, a kitchen with a sofabed, a TV, and a fridge. A step led up to a large, comfortable double bed, and the bathroom had a shower.
