Erofili Villas

We’re staying at Erofili villas for the second time this year, and it’s been amazing. The lovely housekeeper can’t do enough for guests, and there are really good restaurants nearby for different budgets. There’s also a small grass area that’s especially nice if you have a dog. A note about the setup: they’re listed as villas, and they are villas, but each is divided into apartments. Most apartments have a pool, though one doesn’t, which is reflected in the price. We have the one without a pool, and I can’t imagine needing anything more than the apartments already have. Highly recommend Erofili Villas, thank you!

Lourdata gave us such a relaxing holiday that we’ve already decided to return next year. Erofili Villas is in a perfect spot, with amazing views, and the villas are modern, spacious and very clean. Having a pool of our own made the stay even better. The owner and Christina were welcoming and answered any questions we had. There are fabulous bars and restaurants nearby. I highly recommend it. You won’t be disappointed.

We’ve stayed here three times already and will book again. The owner is so helpful and always available by email or phone if needed. The villa sits in a semi-rural spot, with enough going on locally that you don’t feel cut off. Taverns are within walking distance, there’s a local supermarket just around the corner, and the beach is a five-minute drive down the hill. Lovely views of the mountain on one side and the sea out front.

The lack of privacy was the biggest issue for us, and the place turned out to be our worst house stay and worst choice for a holiday. We felt badly treated and very unwelcome from the start, despite arriving with our three-month-old baby. The owners were unfair, unfriendly and rude. When we raised concerns, they weren’t open to criticism or willing to make us feel satisfied. They even argued loudly with us that they were right and we were wrong. I had to wait outside so the shouting wouldn’t wake our baby. We chose this villa for our first visit to Kefalonia because the website photos looked so nice. We travel often and explore new islands and places around the world. On arrival, we were confused and angry to discover that the expensive villa described as “private” was actually a building split over two levels, with another family already staying on the first floor. Privacy was our most important criterion, and we didn’t have it from the beginning. Both parties used the same entrance, so the other guests crossed our pool each time they came and went, often several times a day, which made us feel disturbed. The people on the first floor could also watch us on the second-floor balcony, and we could see them, so both parties felt uncomfortable. We preferred spending time outside the villa rather than being watched at the pool. The pool was beside the main road, with low walls, so passers-by could see us and our family swimming. We couldn’t relax knowing that. There was no barbecue either. We asked why the website didn’t mention that, and the lady replied, “but you didn’t ask.” We found that argument ridiculous. A grill at a summer villa is basic and shouldn’t need to be requested. We were also reviewed as guests with one star after leaving, even though we’d raised our concerns openly about the missing barbecue, the divided house and the lack of privacy. We left the house clean and didn’t have parties there. Very disappointing. I hope this review helps others think twice before booking.
