Elatos Country House

We arrived to find out the heater in our booked room was broken, and were told we’d be taken somewhere else. The replacement was behind the parking lot, noisy and cold, with no hot water. When we asked to move, they said they’d already upgraded us and had no extra radiators. They eventually changed our room, but the same issues continued. The room never warmed up because the wardrobe had been placed in front of the radiator. We were freezing and had no hot water. Nobody checked if we were okay, and when we checked out, everyone had left, so we just left the key. If you can’t or don’t want to do this, leave the three accommodations in beautiful destinations.

Two days before check-in, I booked accommodation owned by the same people. A few hours later I asked for a free cancellation, because of a technical problem with the platform and a personal health issue. To my great positive surprise, Booking acknowledged its mistake and was willing to cancel the reservation free of charge, but the accommodation refused. Since I couldn’t travel for a very serious health reason, I then asked if I could at least change the date. The accommodation refused that too, saying it wasn’t possible one day before. Booking passed all my requests on to them, but they accepted none. Besides erofili’s home, these people own erofili hotel, elatos countryhouse, and other places in Portaria. They were “tempted” to accept a date change, since the rooms would quite likely have stayed empty anyway: when I booked two days before, at least 4 were available. Breakfast at the Erofili hotel was really decent, and the room was kept tidy with daily cleaning, hot water and heating. The staff were very helpful. For the price, it was all good, though you could hear noise from other rooms because there was almost no soundproofing. The mattress definitely needs replacing.

At €75.5, this felt like paying for a cage. The bathroom was barely a square metre, and the shower curtain kept touching me. There was no view, just walls, and no sunlight, only light from the room. We couldn't even find a table at breakfast. The cobblestone path to the room was dangerous, too. It wasn't worth even €20, and we won't consider staying there again.
