Palladio House

The room stayed lovely and warm on chilly evenings, thanks to the heating, which worked very well. It was cozy, comfortable, and clean, and I felt well looked after. I highly recommend it for the service, comfort, and location.

The staff did try to help, but it didn't get us far. Central heating was on, yet the place still wasn't warm enough, and charging 60 euros a night felt like too much given all the problems. We stayed three nights near the end of february, visiting from Athens, and even though we'd spent over 700e, they charged another 7 euros for fireplace wood. The rooms felt stale, with old furniture that wasn't really classic or traditional, an unpleasant smell, and very small bathrooms. Our request to have an existing back door locked at night was followed only once. Breakfast was cold and clearly not enough for all the guests. One of our bedrooms was cancelled, but we were charged the full amount, with no discount even for breakfast. The hotel wasn't what we expected.

We had a horrible experience. Inside the old house from 1826, there was damp infiltration from the ground floor up to the first floor, and the smell was awful. The lights were very old, and the windows were in poor condition, with no insect screens. The swimming pool needed major repairs and cleaning. There should also be air conditioning in every room, since it was difficult to breathe without it. The host was perfect, though. novasol tricked us by using a different name and old pictures, and never admitted to it. Instead of misleading guests, the travel company should help the host by advising them how to improve the house.

The hotel building is closed right now. When we called about staying there, they asked us to transfer money to their bank account before they would give us the keys. The place was dusty, and the lights were left on even though it was shut.
