The Margi

The Margi team were remarkably attentive and always glad to help with whatever we needed. I especially want to thank Sofia from the Reservations department, Konstantinos from Reception, and Abdalla from Room Service, who made our stay outstanding, especially Abdalla! My wife and I were there from May 24th-29th, and the whole experience was exceptional. The rooms were clean, minimally designed, and the food and drinks throughout the hotel were incredible. The service was phenomenal.

The food was delicious and the service excellent, but we came hoping for a restful, lovely holiday with our young daughter and left disappointed. We stayed three nights, and on two of them private events by the pool played loud music until after midnight. At times some or all of the pool area was closed to hotel guests for these events, which made us feel that paying guests came second. Smoke from the events also drifted onto our balcony, so we ended up breathing it in. Sadly, we won’t be coming back.

After a month in Greece, we came back to this hotel and the staff remembered us and were so happy to see us again. We’d stayed here twice, at the start and end of our trip, and the warm, friendly team are a big part of why we love the place. The rooms are nicely decorated, though small, and the beds are comfortable. We love the decor and atmosphere, and a sea view is lovely when you get one. The spa is relaxing, as is the outdoor pool area. Even our two-year-old is eager to return. Since we got home, she’s been saying she’s packing her bags for The Margi. That says a lot about how much the whole family loves it here. We can’t wait to come back!

The location is a real plus, with the beach within walking distance and the area convenient for a seaside stay. The Margi also has a nice atmosphere. Our sleep was badly disrupted by a party next door that went on until around 3am. It didn’t seem as if anyone made a serious effort to get the noise under control. For a hotel of this standard, I expected better handling of late-night noise and guest behaviour. The manager was kind and offered a free late checkout, which we appreciated, but we’d already lost sleep and the next day was ruined. The hangers are strangely designed, and the headboard was very uncomfortable. The location is good, but the noise made the stay very disappointing.
