Hotel Amalia

We felt at home almost as soon as we arrived, thanks to such warm hospitality. The large rooms were comfortable and had all the essentials. The place sits away from the road beneath tall pines, with a cool breeze that makes it very relaxing, yet the beach and a bar are only minutes away. Our dog was welcome and seemed to enjoy the stay as much as we did. The owners and the place come highly recommended, and we hope to return next year for a longer visit. A few steps from the hotel, So Simple by Maria is a nice Taverna where the food is simple but delicious. We'll definitely consider returning to Amalia. The hotel is tucked among the pine trees of Stofylia Forest, very close to lovely Kalogria Beach. Check-in was easy, and Pericles helped with our luggage and getting it into the room. Our room was spacious, very clean, and had the basic necessities. Breakfast was delicious, and the brothers Pericles and Kostas were always on hand to bring whatever we asked for. Thank you, Pericles and Kosta.

The people running this place were so kind and welcoming. They served a good local wine, the first good wine we had in Greece. The owner also took us to a nearby winery, which was really interesting. Breakfast leaned more continental, with a few Greek touches. There was a tasty apple-strudel-like pastry. Our room and balcony were both spacious, and the room had a fridge, so we could have our own drinks or take some time to ourselves on the balcony. The rooms were very clean, and ours was already being cleaned while we had breakfast. It's peaceful here. At night it can get quite windy, so all you hear are the sounds of nature, like the wind and the sea. We had a really good stay and would recommend it.

The owners are so warm and helpful with everything. I had a great time here, and the area's simplicity and possibilities really impressed me. It's just a short distance from the beach and the beautiful protected forest. I'd absolutely recommend it to anyone who loves nature and wants to experience traditional Greek hospitality.
