Each unit feels separate, so there’s plenty of privacy, and the grounds stay quiet and peaceful day and night. Haydes Mountain resort is close to Athens, but once you arrive, it’s easy to relax and feel connected to nature. It’s family-run, with a lot of personal care and love for life. The farm is nice to visit and offers fresh eggs and milk to visitors. We’re looking forward to coming back.

The room was cozy and pet friendly, and we loved having a fireplace for a warm winter stay in November. They welcomed us with wine they make, little croissants, sweets, and some very tasty honey they produce. There are deer, bunnies, ducks, and even a peacock too!

I was there for work and came away pleasantly surprised. The owner was easygoing, attentive, and talkative. The little houses sit on a hill, linked by stone paths, and the grounds are lovely. There’s a small area with a horse, rabbits, deer, and other animals, a nice extra for families with kids. The rooms have lovely interiors, good amenities, and great layouts. The cave room especially stood out. Room service felt personal and humane, not robotic. I’d definitely suggest a visit, though the price may feel steep. I think it’s worth it.
